🏏 In the first 10 overs of a One Day International (ODI) match, which is known as the first Powerplay, a maximum of 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.

Powerplay Rules in ODIs:

  1. First Powerplay (Overs 1-10):

    • Only 2 fielders are permitted outside the 30-yard circle.

    • Usually, teams have attacking field placements to restrict runs and take early wickets.

  2. Middle Overs (Overs 11-40):

    • A maximum of 4 fielders outside the circle.

  3. Final Powerplay (Overs 41-50):

    • A maximum of 5 fielders outside the circle.

These fielding restrictions encourage aggressive batting in the early overs while maintaining a balance between bat and ball.
